I keep finding features I didn't know about in Hugin, so maybe I just don't have an intelligent workflow. I really like FOSS, so I'd much prefer to use Hugin as much as I can. ![]() I use a panoramic head so parallax shouldn't be a big issue. Also, in cases where the panorama looks good, I've never been able to get Hugin to tell me I have anything better than a "bad fit" (usually it's "very bad fit"), while Autopano always says my fit has a great RMS score. ![]() I often find Hugin creating bad control points, resulting in images being stretched far beyond where their supposed to go. It seems Hugin is slower at detection as well, because it tries to match all the pictures with each other, when most of them have no overlap with each other. From what I've read they both use the same set of algorithms to detect control points, so I wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I noticed that the automatic detection in Autopano seems to work better than Hugin, but I don't really understand why. After making a bunch of them I decided to look into other (non-free) software and gave Autopano Giga a try.
